We hope to welcome everyone to the BHS club and we’re excited to carry on where we left off, offering BHS members and the students at the University of Ottawa a vibrant platform to gain new memorable experiences.
Tips for staying organized and prioritizing health and wellness throughout the academic year:
As the fall semester commences, some of us can maybe start to feel the pressure of school and like we're falling behind with staying organized and keeping up with the fast pace during the semester, but do not worry we have solutions for you. Staying organized and prioritizing wellness during the academic school year involves a combination of effective planning and self-care. Here are some strategies to help you manage both :
First and foremost, crafting a clear and effective schedule and setting clear goals can significantly reduce our stress and enhance our ability to stay organized quickly and effectively. Many of our favourite organizational tools, such as Notion and Google Calendar, can simplify this process by helping us students manage and review our class timetables, goals, deadlines, and extracurricular commitments. These resources are invaluable for getting back into a smooth and manageable routine.
On another note, now that we've covered academics, I would like to talk about another important aspect of being a student, health and wellness during the academic year. We could all probably agree that as the semester commences, some of us may start to feel more stressed due to the pressure we may feel during the year, and trust me most of us have been there.
Prioritizing health and wellness is therefore an important aspect to keep in mind, I recommend finding a healthy balance, creating time for studying but also socializing, exercise, nutrition and also relaxation. Our university offers many ways to accomplish this whether through extracurricular activities like sports, visiting the student health and wellness center or even attending some of our philanthropy events here at BHS (Hint, Hint)!
In essence, school can be pretty stressful but by staying organized and proactive, you can set yourself up for a successful and enjoyable semester while using some of the important tips mentioned above.
What can you anticipate to see at BHS this upcoming year!
At the Business Healthcare Society, you can anticipate many great and meaningful opportunities for our amazing members. Our club will be offering many memorable events open to all students to attend whether it be for academic purposes or even just to have some fun with our wonderful community here at school.
Firstly, we plan to have several formal and academic events, one of our staples being the annual Sell or Cell event. These events are meant to give our students the opportunity to meet new people, network with experienced professionals, and gain valuable experience learning more about the business-healthcare field.
Our club also plans on hosting various social events such as our upcoming Murder mystery night. This event is open to all students, so be sure to register (link on our instagram) before tickets run out! The event will be a great opportunity to meet new people as well as a chance to have a fun time!
All and all, we have an great group of individuals making up our BHS team, (I’d like to think we’re pretty great)! Who have been working hard to plan and orchestrate these events to help our students at the University of Ottawa.
Lastly, be sure to follow us on social media to stay updated and engaged with everything that we plan to offer this year at BHS!
